The primary emphasis of !mpact Kids summer program is furthering academic success, particularly in literacy and reading proficiency, for children going into 3rd Grade to help them be better prepared for the Reading Sufficiency Test administered in the 3rd grade school year. Each child is paired with a reading mentor/volunteer for daily one-on-one reading sessions. Additionally, a Life Enrichment and Peacemaking component is added to round out their experience.

The theme for the 2016 !mpact Kids Summer Literacy Program is:
Reading Road Trip to Our National Parks
In conjunction with the centennial celebration of the National Park Service, the children will "visit" National Parks in our summer literacy program.  A different National Park will be highlighted each day.  As they learn more about our nation's treasures, the children strengthen their reading proficiency.

Additionally, they will learn more about music, art, gardening, sewing, and movement in Life Enrichment classes, and learn more about peacemaking skills including understanding emotions and problem solving and making good choices.
